The Law Of Vibration
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
― Nikola Tesla
The second universal law, the law of vibration, posits that everything (every atom, object, and living thing) is in constant motion, vibrating at a specific frequency.
You can think of this frequency as vibrational energy. Someone’s energy, or the energy of a physical space or a group of people, isn’t something you can see or touch, but it’s something you sense, feel, and react to.
Every human being possess an energy field or aura, which is a matrix of subtle energy fields or patterns that surround and penetrate the physical body. These fields define the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical makeup of an individual, contain the blueprints for the physical body and tell the important bits of it how to function.
They also contain the blueprints for our emotional and mental energy as well as higher levels of consciousness. To a certain extent, the human energy field is our energetic immune system – it is there to protect us.
We can protect and strenghten our energy field and chakras using our intention, and a number of techniques which involve visualisation.
Bob Proctor introduces the law of vibration as a fundamental Law, and the law of attraction being an energetic expression of this fundamental Law.
He explains that:
‘Everything is in motion – nothing rests. Everything is an expression of energy: a leaf, the body, a tree, the clothes – all energy at different rates of vibration. Vibration is something that needs to be understood. Vibration is something that must be understood if you are going to take control of your life, if you are going to take control of your health, of your relationships; it must be understood if you want to become healthy.”
According to him, our vibration is going to dictate what we are going to attract in our life. If we are troubled, worried, fearful, angry, we are going to attract negative energy. Hence the need to understand the laws that govern our beings, the laws that govern our universe, and how to get into harmony with these laws.
If we are asking a person ‘How are you feeling?” the response we receive is based on their conscious awareness of the vibration they are in.
If a person says “I just don’t feel very well” that person is probably in a negative vibration. A person that says “I feel wonderful today” is probably in a very good vibration.
If you were in a very good vibration, and you are with somebody in a negative vibration, you will feel uncomfortable in their energy, and you will probably want to get away from them.
If you were in a negative vibration (fearful, angry, worried) and with somebody in a very negative mood/state of mind = vibration, you are going to come together, as ‘misery loves company”.
It is hard to believe that two people who feel miserable would feel comfortable together, but if you understood the mechanics of the law of vibration, if would find that these two people are on the same vibration and therefore, this would result feeling comfortable with each other.
You often hear a person that went for a walk in nature saying ‘it was very pleasant’ – why is that? Because the vibration of nature is incredibly high and tends to ground our energy. That’s why a walk in the woods, on a beach, in nature, leaves you feeling really good.
Napoleon Hill – Thoughts are Vibration
Henley once wrote these prophetic poetic lines: “I am the Master of my Fate, I am the Captain of my Soul”. What does it mean?
If we are the Masters of our Fate, the Captains of our Souls, means that we have the power to control our thoughts.
“He should have told us that the ether in which this little earth floats, in which we move and have our being, is a form of energy moving at an inconceivably high rate of vibration, and that the ether is filled with a form of universal power which ADAPTS itself to the nature of the thoughts we hold in our minds, and influences us, in natural ways, to transmute our thoughts into their physical equivalent.”
“If the poet had told us of this great truth, we would know why it is that we are the Masters of our Fate, the Captains of our Souls. He should have told us, with great emphasis that this power makes no attempt to discriminate between destructive thoughts and constructive thoughts, that it will urge us to translate into physical reality thoughts of poverty, just as quickly as it will influence us to act upon thoughts of riches.”
“He should have told us that our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds, and, by means with which no man is familiar, these ‘magnets’ attract to us forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts”.
Napoleon Hill – “Think and Grow Rich”
If the aim is to be on a high vibration as much as we can – what can we do to raise our vibration?
William Walker Atkinson, author of ‘Thought Vibration” (1906) says that:
“The first thing to do is to begin to “cut out” Fear and Worry. Fear-thought is the cause of much unhappiness and many failures. You have been told this thing over and over again, but it will bear repeating. Fear is a habit of mind which has been fastened upon us by negative race-thought, but from which we may free ourselves by individual effort and perseverance.
“Strong expectancy is a powerful magnet. He of the strong, confident desire attracts to him the things best calculated to aid him – persons, things circumstances, surroundings; if he desires them hopefully, trustfully, confidently, calmly. And, equally true, he who Fears a thing generally manages to start into operation forces which will cause the thing he feared to come upon him. Don’t you see, the man who Fears really expects the feared thing, and the eyes of the Law is the same as if he really had wished for or desired it? The Law is operative in both cases – the principle is the same.”
Viktor Emil Frankl was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor. He survived Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, Kaufering and Türkheim. Frankl was the founder of logotherapy, which is a form of existential analysis. He wrote:
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is OUR POWER TO CHOOSE OUR RESPONSE. In our response lies our growth and our freedom“.
That space could be very short indeed, perhaps seconds, milliseconds, but in that space you can decide “Am I going to react? How am I going to respond?
Do what feels good, that’s why people that are doing what they love, never have to work again. They spend their whole life in a wonderful vibration.
The secret is you will attract to you whatever you are in harmonious vibration with. You are in control of the vibration you are in.
Exercise – Changing Vibration
This is an exercise offered by Bob Proctor, in which you can learn how to change the vibration:
“The next time you are in the presence of a person who is complaining or that doesn’t feel very well, start changing the subject, start talking to them about them, about something good about them – compliment them, but be truthful and sincere about your compliments.
“Pick something good that they do, and slowly change the subject around that, let them know how much admire them, what they do and how they do it. You can make sure that their energy will change, you will cause them to change their vibration.”
The beauty of practising this exercise is that once if have learned how to do it, you will be able to PRACTICE IT ON YOURSELF when you are not feeling well, or you are worried, and you want to quickly change your vibration.
